We are excited to invite you to a very special Bluejacket Buzz assembly on Thursday, May 8 at 9:00 AM. This event will be a heartfelt celebration as our Pre-K students and graduating seniors walk in together—symbolizing the journey from the first day of school to graduation day.
Our Pre-k and seniors will share their favorite memories of the year and reflect on their time here before heading off to their next big adventures.

Q. When is the election for the Coyle Public Schools 2025 Bond, and where do I vote?
A. The election is Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Polls are open from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Voting will take place in polling locations where all other elections are held.
All registered voters living in the Coyle School District’s boundaries are eligible to vote.
Q. Why does Coyle Public Schools need a bond issue and what projects are included?
A. This is the 75th Anniversary of Coyle FFA. The changes and focus of the program have continued to evolve and their current space is not adequate to handle updates. We also are needing to add a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program to help our students have options and introductions to other CareerTech opportunities. This will also allow our students to be better able to meet the new graduation requirements that are in effect with our current 8th grade students going forward.
The second bond proposal would allow the school to purchase two route buses and one activity bus. This year we added a bus route to alleviate overcrowding and to reduce bus riding time for our students. The two buses we currently use are high mileage and in need of replacing for safety reasons. Our activity bus went down in August and to repair it would be too costly due to its age. We want an activity bus that all of our students would be able to use for any and all school activities.
Q. Will there be a tax increase associated with the bond issue?
A. This is a no tax increase bond issue.
Q. What is the total cost of the 2025 Bond Coyle Public Schools are proposing?
A. $2,900,000
Q. How was the community involved with providing input into the bond issue?
A. Throughout the last few bond issue forums there were questions concerning updating our Agricultural Education classrooms. We have worked with groups and committees to determine the need based on potential growth, facilities assessments and security reviews.
Q: What is a bond issue?
A: This is a way for a school district to levy funding based on the Sinking Fund of our stakeholders property taxes in order to be able to afford construction costs. The Building Fund for all public schools is underfunded and not capable of a construction project of this size or scope.
Q: What percentage of voters must support a bond
election?
A: The State of Oklahoma requires a super majority of votes cast. At least sixty percent of those votes must be in favor of the bond election for approval.
Q: What can bond funds be used for in Oklahoma Schools?
A: In Oklahoma, bond funds, typically through general obligation bonds (GO bonds), are used to finance long-term capital projects like infrastructure, schools, and public facilities, but not for day-to-day operational expenses. Such as:
● New school buildings
● Renovating existing schools
● Upgrading technology
● Improving sports facilities
● Transportation
● Textbooks
● Technology equipment
Q: What if the bond doesn’t pass?
A: If the bond doesn’t pass we will not build the new classrooms and will have to look at other, less efficient and more costly ways to meet the new graduation requirements. We would need to limit the number of students in our Agricultural Education programs and would need

Beside updating our AgEd facility, the new bond issue will provide a space for a STEM program. As technology increases it is necessary to provide opportunities for Coyle students to stay current and updated on trends for future career growth. The attached flyer provides more information on the STEM program. Housing these to programs in the same facility helps increase collaboration and learning while providing a shared space for hands-on activities and career development.
We have a couple of question and answer session coming up for the May 13th Bond Issue. On Monday we will be at Trinity Community Church at 6:30pm. On the 26th we will be in Meridian at the Fire Department at 6:30pm and on May 5th we will be at the Coyle Gymnasium at 6:30pm. Game today in Covington for HS Baseball has been canceled due to weather.
Dear 8th Grade Parents—Monday, April 21 will be the state 8th grade English, Reading and Language Arts test. Tuesday, April 22 will be the writing part of their English test. On May 1st, they will take state science test, and on May 8th, they will take their math test. Since they may or may not have homework, students will be taking their laptops home. Therefore, we are asking you to make sure they put them on their chargers overnight, so the laptops are charged for testing. They are always able to leave them at the school with their chargers. Please make sure they get a good night’s rest, so they are not sleepy while testing. Thanks for your support!

Coyle School will host 10-year-old published author Sammy Wallace for a special book reading event on Tuesday, April 22nd.
Sammy Wallace, a fourth grader at Pleasant Hill Elementary in Forest Park, Oklahoma, is not your typical 10-year-old. A lover of school, Sammy’s favorite subjects include math, science, and recess…if recess were a class! But what truly sets him apart is his passion for storytelling and his incredible journey as a young author.
With two published books under his belt, Sammy began his writing career at just five years old during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to school closures while living in Los Angeles, Sammy kept busy with his imagination and often composed stories with his grandmother (a lifelong educator and Langston University Alumnus). His debut book, I Slept in My Bed Last Night, was published when he was seven years old. He followed up with The No Sleep Curse at age nine, inspired by a restless night while visiting Oklahoma City.
Now, Sammy shares his stories and his message of creativity with students across the United States. He’s read to over 2,500 people and encourages kids everywhere to believe in their ideas. “More kids should write books—they just need to be encouraged and told that it’s possible,” Sammy says.
In his spare time, Sammy enjoys playing chess, baseball, and basketball. He is an entrepreneur who keeps his parents VERY busy with his dreams, ideas, and ventures. His favorite pastime is spending time with his family, especially his little sister.
