Mrs. Larman has the hoodies ready for the OSU Game workers this morning. Students need to dress in warm long pants with socks and tennis shoes. They may want another jacket in addition to the provided hoodie. They need to wear either their blue or black shirts in case it is warmer than expected. We live in Oklahoma--be prepared.

Together we can provide a united effort to maintain a drug-free school and community. In addition, October is the National Prevent Bullying Month. We believe every child deserves to be safe from child victimization, including bullying. We need to bring attention to bullying and promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Go Vote Today
10/9/2023 Voting Members of the Coyle School District: I wanted to reach out on the eve of our bond election to clarify a few things and invite you to find the truth for yourself. A bond election is what is designed to allow an entity such as a school to secure funding from the vote of the public to make large purchases or improvements by raising taxes. Our entire school district is growing, and we need to be able to grow along with it. In a public education system where we recruit teachers and students daily, we need to be able to provide an adequate and safe environment for school. Tonight, and tomorrow night, from 4-7pm, we will be hosting Parent-Teacher Conferences. We are asking you to please stop by and ask questions or take a look for yourself. The tax increase that the bond will levy will in time come back to the taxpayers in increased land value and community security. This bond isn’t a wasted tax levy; it is an investment in the future of our communities and the security of being able to keep our school open and having a say in its future. If you look at the surrounding communities’ millage rates, you will see that even with this bond issue raising Coyle to a total of 93.09 mills; we are at or lower than their millage rates. There have been concerns about building the multipurpose building and baseball field and not including Agricultural Education. We are building the multipurpose building as, unfortunately, we are having to take down the old gym. There is a lot of history in that building, but it is too far gone to salvage; it is unsafe and uninsurable. We are working to save what we can; we will incorporate that history into our new Elementary/Middle School with the help of the PTA and Coyle Foundation. Another concern is about the new baseball field. When you look at the numbers on building the baseball field, they seem high. The truth is that is bonded money and roughly half is what the actual cost will be and the majority of that will be for lights for the new baseball and existing softball fields. The remainder will be for land clearing and fencing. Our goal is to replace what we have currently and rely on help from booster groups and donations. It has always been the thought of the bond committee to name the new baseball field the Pat Smalley Memorial Field. These are a few of the ways we are hoping to build while Honoring our Past. The current Agricultural Education enrollment of 42 students is currently in a building that does not allow for growth. The plan is to convert the current cafeteria into the ag mechanics shop and storage. This would give them 60% more room in the shop, and the concrete block walls would be a secure and safe environment for students to learn in. There would be a fire lane of 20 + feet between the AgEd shop walls and the new Elementary for safety. The current kitchen has endless possibilities from storage of equipment to a meat science laboratory. The four classrooms called the “Hill” would more than double the space of the current classroom and allow for possible growth of an expanding AgEd program or additional programs such as STEM or Technology Education. The bottom line is that by securing our Elementary and Middle Schools, we can then grow our other programs and put them into spaces that allow them to grow and thrive. This is one of the ways we are Building our Future. There have been several mentions that a meeting or public forum was not held and people have not been informed. We have constantly updated our website with the most current information and added to it weekly throughout this bond election. I have conducted more than a dozen targeted and group meetings that brought in people who had similar concerns or ideas. I have responded to phone calls, emails, and been available within the community to answer questions or chat. I have gone as far as reaching out to individuals who had voiced inaccurate information or issues to help give facts. There has only been honesty and facts presented in our quest to Strengthen the Hive in our community. Please take the time to do your own research and decide for yourself and go vote on October 10th. Thank you, Colby W. Cagle Superintendent

Wellness Wednesday—Today we want to focus on the safety and security of the new building. The addition of two safe rooms as well as reinforced dead walls, fire sprinklers, and safer environmental air quality will help our students and staff be less concerned about outside threats and more focused on growth in education.
