Coyle Concurrent College Students--I emailed all of you the new online requirements from Redlands to your school email addresses. Please read and follow the directions in the email to continue your college classes. Contact Mrs. Larman at (405)612-0467 if you have any questions.

Parents if you should receive a notice that your child is absent or tardy please contact Mrs. Larman. We have asked our website company to disable these calls until further notice. This is to start immediately. We apologize for any calls that may have gone out over Spring Break.

Coyle Community, If there is a threat of a tornado and shelter is needed tonight or any other time, the Coyle School Tornado Shelter at the New Gymnasium will be open. It is my opinion that the safety from a tornado would override the mandate of facility closures. Josh Sumrall Superintendent Coyle Public Schools

Coyle Public Schools, through our partnership with Keystone Food Service, will be providing a “grab and go” sack lunch to students in our school district, during the state mandated school closure, starting March 23rd. We are currently discussing details and will announce the location and times of availability later this week.

The Oklahoma State Department of Education and the State Board of Education had a special meeting today at 4:00pm where they voted to mandate all Oklahoma Public Schools to close and cease all operations until April 6th. Per this mandate, Coyle Public Schools will be closed and all operations, including extracurricular activities and building and facility usages, will cease until April 6th. I will be meeting with our food service management company on developing a plan, if feasible, to offer meals to district students during the school closure. I just had a conference call with State Superintendent, Joy Hofmeister and other School District Superintendents concerning the Coronavirus COVID-19. The Oklahoma State Department of Education is not mandating, at this time, that schools close. They are leaving that to a local district decision, for now. However, if a school district decides to close the State Department will wave absenteeism, number of days required to attend, and student testing requirements for this school year. At this time, Coyle Schools will wait and see how some of this plays out over the next several days. We are out for Spring Break next week, so we can wait and make a decision about the future until next week sometime. We will continue to monitor this situation and will make decisions accordingly. President Trump is declaring a national emergency at this moment, so we may have more information soon. I’ll keep you updated as things change. Josh Sumrall Superintendent Coyle Public Schools

Due to the weather, the Coyle JH & HS baseball games scheduled at Covington-Douglas, today, March 13th, have been cancelled. The HS baseball game scheduled for Monday, March 16th, has also been cancelled. Enjoy your Spring Break!

Due to the possibility of rain Friday evening, the times for the Coyle JH & HS Baseball games scheduled at Covington-Douglas, on March 13th, have been moved to 12:00pm. The Junior High game will start at noon followed by the High School game.

The following message is from Shane Weathers. Mr. Weathers had meniscus knee surgery today. He is home and the surgery went as well as expected. Great Big shout out to Coyle Schools Teachers! Julie and I really appreciate the meal today, and a special thanks to Wray Larman and Dawna Smith for the delivery. Hope to be back soon and help lead the wonderful High School team of teachers. It’s exciting to see how we all come together and help each other out. GOD Bless our School (Students, Teachers, and Staff).

I received the following email today about our High School Baseball team and Coach! As Superintendent, I love getting positive feedback about our staff and students! Great job Coach Ryan Weathers and the Coyle HS Baseball Team! Good Morning, I wanted to send a note complimenting the conduct of your Coach and athlete's at our recent Bray-Doyle Baseball Festival. We are a part of the baseball parents that were glad to host their visit. We wanted you to be aware how polite, respectful and thankful they were to everyone that encountered them. They exhibited sportsmanship both on and off the field. Our players and parents look forward to seeing them again .

Patrons of the Coyle School District--The Majors Family in the Langston area lost everything in a fire (Saturday, March 6). We need to help them. They have two school age children. One is a boy in the 4th grade--he wears children's size 14-16, and his shoe size is 5-6. The girl is in the 3rd grade--she wears children's size 12-14, and her shoe size is 4-5. You may drop items for these children at the elementary school office on Monday. Coyle Public Schools has a new “Blessing Box” in front of the elementary building. This is sponsored by the Coyle FCA organization! Great idea! Thank you Mr. Ryan Weathers and his wife, Tara Weathers, for organizing this group and creating/building this box! Looks great!

The JH & HS Coyle Baseball games on Tuesday, March 3rd, originally scheduled to be at Mulhall-Orlando, have been moved to Coyle. The JH game will start at 4:00pm followed by the HS game. The April 6th games, originally scheduled at Coyle, will now be at Mulhall-Orlando.

Parents and Patrons of the Coyle School District—State Testing is just around the corner. We need volunteers to monitor elementary classrooms during these tests. The testing window is April 20-May 7. If you are interested, please contact Jill Ritter, Elementary Principal or Wray Larman,Testing Coordinator. You will have to go through training on Thursday, March 26 from 4:00-5:30. Hopefully, the training meeting will not take that long, but we do have material to cover.

The JH & HS Baseball games scheduled for today, February 25th, in Carney are canceled. They are rescheduled for this Thursday, February 27th, at 4pm in Carney.
